Mozilla Developer Network Is Now On Their 10th Year

Mozilla Developer Network (MDN) is an open and collaborative learning platform for Web technologies (HTML, CSS and JavaScript). MDN goes beyond providing essential coding information; it addresses developers’ needs through its supporting community of volunteer developers, with the aim of inspiring ideas, encouraging collaboration and ultimately, fostering the growth of the open Web. For a wide range of Web developers, from learners to hobbyists to full-time professionals, MDN provides useful explanations for coding practice, instructions on downloading and building code, articles on how the code works. It also gives guidance on how to build add-ons for Mozilla applications and apps for Firefox OS, user-submitted runnable demos of Web technologies, and helpful answers on development planning and strategy. The original Mozilla Developer Network (MDN) wiki site was launched on July 23, 2005.

Just an FYI, here is a data that Mozilla Developer Network is the most viewed and used in web and app development across the country:

A presentation of Mozilla Developer Network's Milestone.

One thing that I like in an open web or open source is that they eliminate the traditional mindset of "You must have a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and have an experience of being a Technical Support or Programmer". Its true that they are the roots, however it deprives the enthusiast who did not attain or finished that degree but who is very enthusiastic in creating and developing codes.

Here's is the representation of Mozilla Developer Network's requirement on how to be a contributor.

MDN or Mozilla Developer Network is celebrating 10th anniversary today, and going stronger. Very interested on the development of Firefox OS — I own a mobile device running on that operating system; and eyeing that this will have a cross-compatibility with different platform — especially with mobile and imaging devices.
