Samsung is very agressive with their technology this 2011. At the 2011 IFA in Berlin they launched their product that delivers content to those people on the go; from smart tv, smart camera, notebook, and smartphones.
Samsung Smart TV: The Samsung D8000
To start the event Michael Zoller, the marketing director of Samsung Europe introduces the cutting edge technology in smart tv: the Samsung D8000, the 60 inch smart tv that capable to connect with any device that the person has; the Samsung smart hub. Also the Samsung D8000 now focuses in content; so Samsung offers smart tv apps that could benefit the individual who will own this tv. Also on the said event, Samsung and Youtube partnered to present a 3d feature experience exclusive on the said event.
Of course how you can you feel the technology of the Samsung D8000 without the content, that is why they also introduce the Samsung TV apps store. They also invited some company representative to show their support to the Samsung TV apps. The first guest is Dan Saunders, Senior Product Manager for Maxdome. They introduce their apps is a VOD or Video On Demand, where the individual can easily access video directly to the Samsung D8000; Fernando Montoro from the Real Madrid also announce that they will release their Samsung TV app that caters fans of Real Madrid; and the last is Robert Zimmermann of Berlin Philharmoniker or Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra will also launch their apps for the Samsung D8000.
Samsung Digital Camera: Samsung Multiview NV800
When I heard that they will also launch new product for digital camera, I was more excited because I am planning to buy one. Malcolm Andre, the Product Manager of Samsung Digital Imaging in Europe introduce the Samsung Multiview NV800. It is similar to my Samsung PL120 but this one has more horsepower; a 16.1 megapixel is the powerplant of this sleeper camera, a 26-mm wide angle for more image capture, a 3-inch flip-out touchscreen display for more personal touch and allow the perfect shot without countouring yourself; perfect for social network shots like facebook and MySpace. Other technologies like Picture-In-Picture, and 3.0 life technology is available in this camera; same technology is also available on my PL120 less the megapixel though.
Samsung Digital Camera: Samsung NX200
The next camera that they presented gave me more excitement because they already introduce the much anticipated Samsung NX200. What a suprise that the appearance of the camera is similar to Sony's NEX5 camera; maybe less the price once they hit the store. A whopping 20.3-megapixel is the core of this one, now I am planning to buy this one once it hits the market; an iso 100-12800, seven frames-per-second, hd movie capability, ifunction 2.0 controls, and three-inch vga display are the features of this camera; user friendly camera with the professional touch of a DSLR.
Samsung Notebook: Samsung Series 7 Chronos
Patrick Povel, the Marketing Director for Mobile Computing in Europe presented the new Samsung notebook: the Samsung Series 7 Chronos. This will be one of the fastest notebook that Samsung will offer to the consumer; equipped with Intel technology, either I5 or I7, it will perform especially when we are talking about multitasking here; the all new express cache feature; an 8gb independent flash memory; a 19 sec boot up which is a remarkable 45% improvement when booting up your application; it is like you have a solid-state hard-drive with less space. Also their screen has the anti-reflective screen; the chassis is made up of aluminum, light and tough. On the presentation he also introduce the next-generation Microsoft Surface device which already have a pre-orders from companies like Fujifilm, Aeroport De Paris, and Dassault Aviation.
Samsung Wave3
The Executive Vice President for Global Sales and Marketing DJ Lee introduced the latest smart phone which I think will be a hit; the Samsung Wave3. Equipped with Obada version 2.0 Operating System; and a four-inch amoled screen which gives better view to the user, this will also challenge HTC and LG.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7
The gadget presented is the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7; the newest tablet by Samsung. Features are: 7" amoled display for better display, crisp and vivid, and having the highest pixel rate in the tablet segment; 1.4 dual core processor; metal casing material; 7.96mm and 335 grams, the thinnet tab in the tablet market; Android 3.2 honeycomb as its operating system; and improved voice call feature, this will definitely compete with the Dell Streak.
Samsung Galaxy Note
Andrew Coughlin the Global Account Director for Samsung European Telecommunication Operation presented the new category that will be the trend in the market to minimize switching of gadget; the called it "note" category. So they unpacked the Samsung the Samsung Note; a modern version of a notepad. Features are 1280x800 resolution, free capture and creation to minimize input limitation like typing and copy and paste; the introduction of the S-Pen which will be included on the Samsung Galaxy Note. Also Samsung will launched the S-Pen SDK for developers. Junos Network Operating System was used on the Samsung Galaxy Note; so expect tweaking of this phone in the future.
About the said event, the first thing that I have notice is the presentation of their press release; the presentation is very similar to the presentation of Steve Jobs of Apple from the milestone of Samsung to the introduction of their product. Compared to Steve Jobs his audience where techno-junkies compare to Samsung's media as their audience. I did not hear any WOW in the audience or a sudden interest compared to Apple's presentation.
Second would be their latest product, they follow the footstep of Apple and Sony's technology; I love Samsung's new technology that will be offered to the consumer. Like Hyundai's following Toyota's footsteps. Samsung still improving their products.
