Samsung Wins 38 Consumer Electronic Show 2016 Innovation Awards

Three Best of Innovation Awards along with 35 other prestigious recognitions for 2016 reflect Samsung’s continuing leadership and achievements in design and technology

The Consumer Technology Association™ (CTA), the producer of CES 2016 - the global gathering place for all who thrive on the business of consumer technologies, who has been recognizing achievements in product design and engineering since 1976, has honored Samsung with one more Best of Innovation Award this year than last year.

Among Samsung’s 38 CES 2016 Innovation Awards are three Best of Innovation Awards. Products entered in the CES Innovation program are judged by a pre-eminent panel of independent industrial designers, engineers and members of the trade media to honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting-edge consumer electronics products across 27 categories.

Samsung’s award-winning products span 18 categories including, TV, Monitor, Mobile, Tablet, Digital Imaging, Wearable, Home Appliance and Memory. Many of Samsung's award-winning products will be on display at CES 2016, which runs January 6-9, 2016, in Samsung booth #11906 in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center. Some of the winning products will be showcased at Samsung’s CES press conference, scheduled for 2 p.m. on Tuesday January 5, 2016.

Apple Iphone 6S Release At Beyond The Box Store Century Mall

Last Thursday, well, technically Friday morning; Apple's latest smartphone Iphone 6s was officially released in the Philippines. Apples' authorized reseller store Beyond The Box is one of the few who carries the said device.


The device was released at Beyond The Box Century Mall branch, the released created a buzz, resulting loyal Apple customer to queue at the said store 11 in the evening where the mall itself was already closed — this is like the release of Apple Phone, or any devices that are a big hit in other countries.

PLDT-Smart 2015 BOZZ Awards

This year, giant telecoms PLDT, and Philippines' biggest mobile service provider SMART will recognize individuals who made their mark in the world of Small to Medium entrepreneurs at the 2015 PLDT-Smart 2015 BOZZ Awards.

Held at the Palace, Pool Club in Taguig; for the first time, public will see entities who made their mark in the world of digital commerce in the Philippines.

As the head of PLDT-Smart SME Nation Kat Luna-Abelarde said "We exceeded our expected numbers of nominations by almost 150 percent and we've seen some really inspiring stories of digitally powered business success. Digitally truly is the future, and this is a resounding testament to that"

And last but not the least, the Boss for Customer Service was awarded to Chino Atillano of Timefree Innovations. The said company revolutionize the e-ticket which users will be informed on where they stand on a queue vitually, without going to the traditional ticket store.

PhilCare And Samsung Introduced Availment of HMO Benfits via NFC-Card and Samsung Mobile Phone

Philippines' leading health care provider PhilCare partnered with Samsung Electronics Philippines Co. to offer the first near field communication or NFC-capable membership card designed to make availment of health services from hospitals faster, more efficient, and close to paperless.

“We are proud to introduce this new technology to the HMO industry.

We’ve been looking for the best technology to make medical services smoother and more convenient for our clients and providers and NFC seems to be the perfect fit for this goal,” said Noemi Azura, CEO & President, PhilCare.

The NFC-capable card means to do away with the usual tedious process of availing health services from health maintenance organizations (HMO). In most cases, hospitals require cardholders to secure letters of authorization from their HMOs before getting medical services.

All these are no longer necessary for NFC-powered PhilCare cards as members only need to hand over their cards to any of the 200 service providers of PhilCare with NFC-capable phones from Samsung. In short, the technology shortens the processing in verifying the beneficiaries HMO coverage when confining in any Philcare accredited hospitals and clinics.
